  • BLOCK DAY  |  9 am - 5 pm (8 studio hours)
This is our most popular tracking package and ensures the artist can achieve most goals for almost any radio single.  Great for hip hop artists trying to get a few singles out at once, or a band looking to complete an entire song or small body of work pre mixing/mastering. Please remember to check out our mixing and mastering services as these are most likely not included in this time and are extra. Those looking to track material and mix and master in the same day, please contact the engineer so that we may come up with a game plan and construct a proper quote.

  • MIXING
This service is what really sets us apart from the competition.  If you are looking for drums that slam, bass that is felt and heard, and vocals that sit in the mix just right, then you have come to the right place.  Mixing is more than just balancing a bunch of track. It's the secret sauce.

  • MASTERING​
Take that great sounding mix to the next level with our amazing rack of analog compressors and equalizers.  This will add punch, width, and a competitive level to your mixes that will make them jump out of the speakers and compete with major labels.

  • GUITAR RE-AMPING
Have you tracked some DI guitars at home and want a professional sounding amp tone in a world class studio environment?   I'll run them through our amazing amps and cabs with industry standard microphones.  I'll send them back to you for your home productions, or better yet, bring them in and let me insert these into a mix and master them for you. 

  • DRUM / INSTRUMENT POCKETING
Recorded drums are not perfect.  They can be loose, out of phase, unfocused, and out of sync with other elements of your song.  Ever wondered how huge sounding productions seem to be completely locked in with all of the elements hitting at the same exact moment?  Get that sound with our pocketing service.  It's a lengthy process and takes much skill to do, but totally worth the end result.  Let me take you to the next level. 

  • PRIVATE INSTRUCTION
Are you a producer or do you want to learn more about the recording process? We are offering private or small group lessons on everything from vocal tracking, ProTools instruction, instrument tracking and more. What do you want to learn to bring your own songs to life? Make a list, book a lesson and you will learn all my tips and tricks to bring your songs to life.

  • STUDIO RENTAL
Do you want to rent the room and use all our analog gear to elevate your mix quality? Don't have a good monitoring system and want to check levels before you master or send off for mastering. Do you need high end microphones or master bus processors to add flavor to your sound? We have it here for you to rent and use.

meet jimmy hill

Amplified Wax is a professional recording studio located in downtown Spokane, owned and operated by Jimmy and Mandy Hill. Specializing in recording, graphic design, and promotional products, Amplified Wax is a one stop shop for artists and companies looking to create quality content and market their brand.

The husband and wife team graduated from Eastern Washington University with degrees in marketing and graphic design. Not happy in his long time position as a commercial banking specialist at one of the country’s leading financial institutions, Jimmy turned down a management position and focused his attention on renovating the basement of his modest home into a recording studio.

Although growth was modest at first, the company began to gain traction in the music community, and the need for more space resulted in a big move in 2010 to the historic Garland district. The new location provided more space for artists to create, and with Mandy joining the roster as partner, graphic design and promotional products were added to the companies services. This five year period catapulted the company forward as the go to studio in the area for both artists and small businesses.
This steady rise paved the way to the company procuring their own building downtown in the summer of 2015. A fresh look and state of the art acoustics and equipment have set the studio apart from its competition as national and local acts continue to book out the calendar for months in advance.

The owners look to the future as plans develop to include a school for recording and production, as well as online business education focused on Spotify and social media marketing for artists and small business.
